I had kids from Ben Franklin in my Calc 3 and Diff Eq 2 classes. I guess that's a perfect example of them teaching to the test.

Ah, it was a troll job

These schools have a large white student base. Almost every student at Southern is diverse.

It’s a shame. CHS, BRHS, Jesuit, Franklin, etc. are all just teaching to the test. That’s why all the kids from those schools are so unsuccessful after high school

I went to none of these schools but you're a moron if you think most of. These kids aren't successful after high school

Held em back for sports bro. That's the CHS way.

a poster on sportsline tried to tell me that colleges wanted 17 year olds instead of 19 year olds due to "upside"...

5 students would be good enough for like 4th or 5th in the Baton Rouge area FYI

Act test score are super overrated and basically meaningless. I scored a 30 on mine back in 2000.

Should be a first look test, no test prep courses, 34 here btw, one take, no prep, after a night of scoring 24 in a bb game against Parkway, then scoring with a cheerleader in the front seat of her car after the game

ETA: and a couple of Miller pony eight packs

Back in the day the ACT was more like an IQ test. I think Mensa and the Top One Percent Society still accept pre-1989 ACT scores. It’s a different type of test now, for better or worse.

The accuracy of the test for determining intelligence or success is open for debate, but pocketing 5 figures (Possibly 6 figures) from scholarships and/or course credits gives it very tangible meaning. The pride, confidence and accolades that accompany an unusually high score don’t hurt either.

Additionally, recognizing that, and preparing accordingly, would indicate a person who likely has more ambition and intelligence than your average schmoe.
