I wonder if this will happen to the one in BR by the ghetto casinos downtown. Granted, I don't think many people know its Columbus. And the only statues they need to take down are those creepy black and white ones all over downtown.

The dude murdered, raped, and enslaved tons of natives. It's ridiculous we still have a holiday to honor him. You apparently are the one who needs a history book because Columbus didn't "discover" North America. There's plenty of evidence that the Japanese and the vikings were here long before Columbus.

Sure Columbus didn't really "discover" America, but if we're going by this criteria:
There's a whole shitload of white washing that needs to be done. Might as well wipe out our entire history as a nation.
Let's be honest here, the way the U.S. was formed as it is today was through conquest, like most other nations today. Conquering involves a host of terrible things.
I think you'd be hard-pressed to find any nation that exists today that wasn't built at someone else's expense.
Where does that leave us? Just white wash everything?
