There will always be people who are comfortable with the inherent risk of life, and those who demand State solutions to alleviate that risk. There is of course a big difference between your head hitting pavement and a molecular virus that drifts in the air. The flaw in your reasoning is that you truly believe The State in their wisdom, can legislate against this virus. Imagine your surprise when you not only get your freedom crushed ( including your ability to make a living ) but you also get the virus anyhow. Because this virus DGAF about Biden or Fauci or Trump. It will run it’s course one way or another, and no ideology or Karen can beat it.

It’s possible to be an ardent Trump supporter and conservative, believe we are overreacting to the virus, and still wear a mask when at the store just in case the experts are correct and because it truly doesn’t hurt to wear it for a few minutes once or twice a week. Why so many can’t understand that, I’ll never know.

Seatbelt laws and helmet laws are also dumb

I would agree with you if the law stated that once someone decided to not wear a seatbelt or helmet, they waived their right to sue in an accident. Someone not wearing a seatblet can also cause a risk to others in the car. If I'm not wearing a seatbelt and you hit me, I could fly around the cab of my truck and injure my wife or kids. Also, my injuries might be severe from not being buckled. Who's liable for that?

-Touching your mask to adjust your mask constantly, then touching other things
-Leaning in when talking to someone because the mask muffles voices
-When they become moist, they become porous
-Surgical masks are meant to be disposed and cloth masks are meant to be washed after use. You know nobody is washing their masks daily.
-Most importantly, a false sense of security that a mask provides. Those dinky cloth mask likely only reduces your chance of infection by 5%, but the things listed above make that percentage go down and likely cause it to go into the negative.

Um, excuse me, but we only like nordic countries when we're gushing over their socialist policies and how much better nordic countries are than the US in random happiness polls.

The same people who are banning straws/plastics are the same people who banned paper bags to be replaced by PLASTIC bags 30 years ago.
According to the same people the seas should have overtaken coastal cities and there would be no ozone left by now. Critical thinking is not taught in schools. Comical.

That is b/c their numbers are so low. That link also acknowledges the effectiveness of the masks and says that masks should be reconsidered if their situation changes.
quote:

Norway's health authorities have doubled down on their recommendation for those without symptoms not to wear face masks, arguing that the number of infections in Norway was now so low that they were unnecessary.

In a memo, published in English on its website, the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, said that even in the best case, with medical masks which prevent 40 percent of infections, 200,000 people would have to wear them to prevent just one new infection per week.
...
"If epidemiological situation worsens substantially in a geographical area, the use of face masks as a precautionary measure should be reconsidered," it said.

"Measures to reduce risks during necessary public transport and during mass events, including wearing face masks, should be explored further."

Dont' forget Norway also did a national lockdown early on (schools, gyms, sports, etc).

What's the survival rate of being involved in a serious traffic accident wearing a seat belt vs not wearing one? Do you have a 99.6% chance of surviving one without a seat belt? I doubt it.

Same thing in this country. They want "freedom" but when there are costs to pay, they insist that they be socialized.

Well, that’s just like your opinion, man.jpeg.

You did get the first part of the acronym right. “CP” makes reference to Chuck Plattsmier though.
