It's both insane and sad that America isn't capable of building world wonders like this anymore.

Where in America, would you build the world's tallest bridge?

Yeah, it’s their little Asian weiners that the Chinese are always trying to compensate for.

It doesn't matter. We couldn't do it today. It would take us 15 or 20 years and have hundreds of billions if cost overruns. We don't have the culture to execute feats of engineering on that scale as a country. Space-x is the only exception to that in the modern day, and it's only because of the drive and will of one individual.

I would be fine with driving over it but there is nothing that interests me about eating that high up on top of a bridge

America has been lost to Hollywood and entertainment crap.
Engineering minds are developed young, yet all we do in this society is glamorize line reading actors, while eliminating advanced grade school courses in the name of equity.

There isn’t an endless need for “feats of engineering.” The USA knocked most of those big ticket items off the punch list decades ago. Now it’s more about maintaining, improving, or upgrading what we already have once it becomes degraded…at least from a public infrastructure standpoint. A lot of the steps in the process that make things take awhile here are there because of key learnings and mistakes from the past. It’s frustrating sometimes, but ultimately makes for a better final product in most cases. In the US, this wild bridge would never get built for a lot of reasons…first being that whatever infrastructure need this is addressing over in China was probably solved for here like 50+ years ago. Also can’t imagine Americans agreeing to fund an ugly elevated freeway across mountain tops in 2025. Most Americans think of nature a little differently than the CCP.

Colrado has the Royal Gorge. But it's only half as high.

I've walked across it and rafted under it.

Look at their biggest cities compared to ours. It's ridiculous how advanced some of them are. They don't send money to support transgenders in Zimbabwe or to freaking Ukraine/Gaza.

Multiple items here. First, not a soul actually believes their buildings are well made. Second, their single child policy was way, way too successful and their entire population is going to collapse. Three, they still basically enslave people's to build for them.

Fourth, they lack what makes the United States and Europe so strong and that is their commitment to diversity, equity and inclusivity.
