And you were a parental figure to them, were you not? Clearly your situation is different to the trolls above. So obviously, I’m not referencing you. I’m sorry if I didn’t point out each exception but you’re experience isn’t exactly common, though it does happen. Yes, you would have a better idea of prenting than the other 2 idiots above.

Even without that experience, I don't think you need to be a parent to have valid input on what is best for them in some regards.

Have kids and agree with OP 100%. My wife is a picky eater and it's annoying and it's 100% her parents fault for giving in to her whining. My parents were the "you eat what we give you and you don't leave the table until your food is gone" and I like everything and am willing to try anything. Luckily my wife recognizes and admits it. We've raised the kids like I was and they're like me, they'll eat anything because they have no other choice. It's pretty simple. No one is born only liking chicken fingers. That's not a natural pallette. It's 100% the parents fault
