Childhood Friend

I grew up with Pig and he was a great friend from 5 years old till about 9. Then his mother was killed by her drug dealer/ boyfriend at his house. She was shot in the face with a shotgun and survived for a few days but needed up dying later. He was never the same and turned towards a life of crime. I grew up in the country hood in Texas and several stories like this I could share.

A close childhood friend of mine shot up a small town during a one-man gun battle with the city police.

He and his family moved away to upstate New York. We lost touch. And then...

In 2001, for whatever reason (drugs) he wound up really hating the police (sound familiar?) and set up an elaborate scheme to ambush them one night. He was running all through town exchanging gunfire with law enforcement. Amazingly, no one was seriously injured and thank God no one died.

He tried to get some leniency from the judge due to the lack of injury and good behavior, but then 9/11 happened. Nobody was feeling very sympathetic after that. Still behind bars to this day.

Had a friend who is an alcoholic that I tried to help and he just refused to get it. After he got his 3rd OWI and owed many people money he left the state and I believe has a warrant or two for his arrest. Guess he will have to fully hit rock bottom ,but when it is always an excuse and refuses to be helped than there is nothing you can do really...

I don't know of any who fit the OP description but I do have one friend who is just the opposite. Always in trouble in HS including crimes for which he was never caught. Now he is extremely successful in a very respectful profession. We still keep in touch and we've discussed the polarity of his style of life over the years.

Yeah, a friend from junior high will never be a free man again after murdering some poor old man he cut grass for just so he could steal his shite to score meth.

Grew up with the Massey boys

Surely someone here remembers Bubba and John.

Watching Americas Most Wanted in a bar in Canada with some New Zealanders and said "Those were my neighbors." They thought that was outrageous.

I took one of mine to play golf a few months back after not seeing him for years. When I picked him up at 7 am he was double fisted with Budweisers and continued to drink non stop until I dropped him off at 9 pm ha ha

It was freaking impressive, I bet he drank at least 30 beers and 3/4 mixed drinks in 13 hrs :) And wasn't that drunk

Turns out he does this everyday and has lost 2 wives, his children is unemployed etc etc etc

Had a good buddy of mine growing up end up dying in prison. Kid had great parents. His parents sent him to a small private school, as opposed to Peabody in Alexandria, where his uncle was the basketball coach, to keep him away from the ghetto scene. He had a pretty hard life. His sister was killed by her husband, and his mom shot in the head, but survived, all in front of his 2 year old niece. Even after that, which happened when we were in about 1st or 2nd grade, he continued a good life Great guy up until his senior year when he started running with the wrong crowd. Started off at LSU, ended up back in Alexandria. Started off selling weed and graduated up to heroin. Was arrested in a big bust, and ended up passing away in his jail cell from "withdrawals". His mom and dad are great people, I still think about them often. Theyve lost one kid to heroin, one to murder, and one to sickle cell. I dont know if it gets much more difficult than that.
