LinkSchool is on lockdown. Working on that link

Authorities say one child was shot and has been transported to a hospital in Lafayette. There is no further danger to students even tough school is on lockdown.

Looks like kid brought a gun to school. Accidental discharge.

Damn. I have some cousins with young kids down there. Let's hope it was isolated or accidental.

These parents need to start being held accountable for this shite.

Prayers sent to the kid injured.

Yep, could've ended much differently.. Parents should be arrested and kids should be placed with relatives, obviously they aren't being supervised there

The is the story being told me:

Boy brings gun to school in backpack. Gun falls out accidentally in class. Girl picks up gun thinking its just a toy gun and shoots the boy.

Again, this is just hearsay at this point

Does Lake Charles not have a decent hospital? Why would they transport him to Lafayette?

More likely than a discharge from dropping.

Seems like a long way to transport a gun shot victim.

Damn, that's rough. My nephews went to school there until last year.

Why are they bringing him to Lafayette though? I didn't know Lafayette had any more capabilities than LC.

Not a gun expert, but how does a gun discharge just from bring dropped? Thought this was extremely unlikely/not possible
