What about the dad can be inferred from his: #1- Jumping in after his child and #2- Treading water/swimming for 20 minutes until rescued?

what's incredible is that he put her on the rail to take pictures and she fell over.
Moron of a dad.

They need some Top Golf type netting all the way around all railings.

Financial since it was the result of stupidity and not an accident.

I've seen video of it. Likely posted by now. If not I'll look for it.
Don't see much other than the two people get pulled until the boat.

One passenger shared that about 10 minutes after the alarm, a lifeboat was sent out. The brave father, who had been treading water for about 20 minutes, and his daughter were found by the lifeboat within just 3 to 5 minutes.
Is 10 minutes for the lifeboat to get dropped and begin looking for someone overboard as quick as can be expected on a cruise like this?
Do these cruises usually have life preservers around the deck that can be thrown or jumped in with in this case to help those in water stay afloat longer (if they are alert enough and close enough to make use of it)?

Yes every deck has multiple throw rings and every state room has live preservers.
The boat has to almost stop before it can drop and raise the tender.

Reports are that the child appeared to be about 5.

Father is a badass for treading water for 20 minutes in deep arse water,
Not to take anything away from that admirable dad, but how deep the water is hardly matters as long as it’s deeper than he is tall.

I get the whore "jumping in after her" I know his adrenalin was pumping and in fight or flight mode......but in hindsight, maybe he should have jumped in with a flotation device,

Why didn’t other people throw stuff overboard is my question?
