Can you not see the difference between criminals being killed by other criminals and innocent people being mowed down by a lunatic?
What happens daily in Chicago has no bearing on my life and gives me zero pause in taking my family anywhere. The second scenario is scary, even though still unlikely.

Well, most of those shootings weren't against a bunch of innocent bystanders shopping for groceries or just trying to have a fricking drink.
Big cities have gun crimes and they're mostly against other people involved in said crimes. HUGE difference.

No one cares if Tyrone gangbanger kills another gangbanger in a drug deal gone wrong. Most people know they won’t ever die this way.
Mass shootings are more unsettling because it can happen to any of us.

Innocent people get killed by these gangbangers too. The truck driver from Tennessee that was killed in BR and the lady killed in Sherwood more recently come to mind.
Your odds are obviously much lower if you don't live that lifestyle though.
