Well, most of those shootings weren't against a bunch of innocent bystanders shopping for groceries or just trying to have a fricking drink. Big cities have gun crimes and they're mostly against other people involved in said crimes. HUGE difference.

You’re being obtuse and you know it. There is no difference in the value of the lives that are taken. The difference is in the fashion these lives were taken and the relatability of it to every American citizen.

When someone is murdered in Chicago, it’s usually a rough neighborhood or criminal on criminal crime. Not saying that it’s acceptable, but 90% of the population doesn’t give it much thought because they know they would never be in the same position as the victim to where it would be possible to happen to them.

Mass shootings garner so much attention because every man, woman, and child of every race, religion, and age could have been the victims in these types of tragedies.

But, you know that.

So, it is all about sensationalism? Got it.

Took me a few seconds of looking at the front page after clicking the link you posted to find news about the Chicago shootings.

You are incorrect.

Chicago should really look into passing some gun control laws...

ok...

I had use the search key function to find anything on that wall of text they call a website, There is one article about a Chicago hospital (on the fair right of the page tucked under a big photo of the Dow dropping 600 pts) is not taking more patients of shooting victims...

CNN has not reported black on black crime for decades...none of them do (not like they should )...local news will report it...

I think the point is, cable news do not emphasize the epidemic like they should...

6 or 7 shootings a weekend in Chicago is not unusual.

is it much different than killing 9 at a bar?

You’re off on an entirely different tangent now.

You said there was no news on Chicago shooting on that link, but there was.

That’s all I was commenting on. I would want someone to do the same for me.

As to your other point, I don’t know why it’s surprising that inner city gang violence gets overshadowed by the mass killings of psychopaths, nor do I understand your desire to compare the two.

The problem isn't the laws in Chicago, it's the lenient laws next door in Indiana which allows weapons to flood into Chicago via gun runners.

Yeah, that is the problem. They should make that illegal.

...and what do you think will happen in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and Cali with any federal gun control laws. Law abiding citizens will be at the mercy of criminals supplied by cartels along the border.

Sure, you do. You know damn well the point he’s making. The media oversells the coverage of mass shootings under the guise of faux concern for the victims in an attempt to inflame passions. Hopefully, they can get the anti-gun movement some momentum by waving the bloody shirt of gun violence. Meanwhile, coverage of violence in minority neighborhoods or cities is usually relegated to milestones, “This is the nth murder in the cit of _____ thus far this year.” The left and the media don’t care any more about the victims of mass shootings than they do the victims of inner-city violence. Except they can use the former to beat the drums to take away rights.

A series of unrelated shootings that all manifest as a result of gangs/drugs are an entirely different (and expected) beast than a completely random single outburst that murders dozens of innocent people.

How can you all not grasp the difference?

There were shootings in Chicago last week, as was expected, and there will be shootings in Chicago this next weekend. I guarantee it.
