we have vaccines for the flu. We do not have vaccines for covid-19. Why is this so difficult to understand?

They are computer model generated estimates. If a person has pneumonia symptoms they are tested for Covid-19 now. In the past that would have been a FLU tally.

The flu illness count is based on statistical analysis. The COVID number is actual confirmed cases. The statistical COVID illness count is probably within the range you listed for flu, based on rate of asymptomatic cases, symptomatic cases where the person just toughed it out, etc.

So you're arguing numbers I posted from cdc. "Statistical analysis" doesn't eliminate the real count of flu illnesses to go below the wuhan numbers. The confirmed flu cases are much higher than confirmed wuhan cases. There really no need to offer a defense.
Did someone mention that there's a flu vaccine available?
