My office overlooks a runway at MSY. You would be surprised how many go-arounds happen there.

Had a landing like that once in Sydney. Bounced once but managed to stay in the ground. It was dead quiet inside that airplane during the entire descent. Crosswinds were awful. It was the only time in all that flights I’ve been on where I had a quick re-evaluation of my life!

It really does. While we sweat it out these guys are great at what they do. Take a look at the aborted/touch n go landings on youtube, pretty amazing.

I will definitely keep up with it. I follow a bunch of avgeek accounts on Twitter/Instagram. I love learning about commercial aircraft. I can't get enough of it. Just bought a book about the 747 Amazon Link which is next on my reading list. Have you read Cockpit Confidential? I would highly recommend it! It's just a solid book full of good info and easy to read. I already want to reread it, but I lent it to my dad.
