So if I do think it does, are you still sorry?

I never fully appreciated BR water until I live in Pensacola for a year and I was so used to drinking straight from the faucet growing up in BR that I thought nothing of it. Turns out, at the time escambia county had some of the worst drinking water in the country. BR water was liquid gold compared to that shite.

The best part about water from the faucet is a hungover morning that's just above freezing outside. The desperate chug of ice cold water straight from the faucet is one of life's true pleasures...

Here in Jax, nope. We're on a well and it would taste like shite. I wouldn't drink the city water either though and never have when on it. It's pretty crappy too.

In BR though... HELL yes!!! Was just there last week and it was so awesome to be able to drink it straight from the tap.

from the sink faucet is fine for me.

Not around here in this part of Evangeline Parish. The water from the Mamou Water System is crappy.

Seems like every 6 months we get a letter saying that the water tested beyond the EPA limits for some chemical or other. We filter ours.

I prefer generic (tap) water over brand name (bottled) on the Northshore.

I actually think this upsets some people. "WAIT - we have bottled water in the fridge!!!" I'm like, ok, and drink from the tap anyway.

If you're in the city limits of New Orleans and living in an older house, it might be worth having LSU School of Public Health test your tap water for free -- they will give you testing kits to be mailed off to labs. I did, and they found lead present -- any amount of which is toxic. This should be of especial concern to anyone with developing kids. The corrupt New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board disputes any problem, but the numbers show significant lead in city tap water. Here is a link to the LSU page: LINK
