Yeah, it really depends on where you are. In New York City, I exclusively drank water from the faucet. There's nothing better. But pretty much everywhere else I've lived, I just use a Brita. Now I have one of those Kentwood machines.

You do know that BR's water quality is among the highest in the nation.

Here. Based on the Cross Lake taste i think all Shreveport must do is siphon off the duckweed and bream eggs before its water is declared potable.

Dallas water, which comes from lakes, can taste funky. So I have a Pur filter on my kitchen sink and a filter for my fridge water. My wife recently bought a berkie that produces great water and can filter any creek/river/lake water so I'm set when Armageddon comes. But you have to keep up with re-filling it and it leaks if you put too much water in it.

You have no clue what you're talking about if you think BR water isn't high quality.

The samples are taken post treatment. The biggest problem will be looking for another water source (Mississippi River) as saltwater invades the aquifer.

Try again, arse. I was the guy waking around telling you to keep your Benzene badge on while you were putting up scaffolding. I worked in Industrial Hygeine at two refineries and did environmental consulting for 16 years.

My cousin that has been in the water industry for about 20 years now and Baton Rouge and st. Charles Parish are in the top 8 in the country in terms of drinking water quality.

ETA: at least this was the case 10 years ago. He mentioned not too long ago that BR and other s. La. Cities was upping the chlorine levels in the drinking water due to the scare of brain eating amoebas.
