Is the light orange or red? If orange I would chance it if red I would find another mode of transportation. Also, might want to add roadside assistance to your cell plan or insurance if you don't have it.

Take it to an auto parts store and they can tell you what caused it to come on and then reset it. Then you can make a decision whether it’s bad enough to keep you from going. If your vehicle is running fine it maybe not necessary to correct it permanently right now.

I think he’s still in high school.

If it’s not blinking, don’t worry about it

In my experience it has never been a real issue with the vehicle's function/operation.
Now if I was driving a 1994 Hyundai Elantra like in college I wouldn't be so confident.

But a Honda Accord or Camry with 120k+ miles on it, I ain't worrying about no check engine light at all.

Dude go get it hooked up to a computer. Could be as simple as an oil change/tire pressure/too much co2 coming out.

My truck had a check engine light come on for some emissions valve. It was like a $45 part. I ordered the part figuring it looked pretty easy to change and then I drove it for another year before I replaced it

My TPMS light has been blinking for 11 years. You're good

I forgot to mention most solid CELs are OK to drive with, a blinking CEL is a warning of a more dire failure that needs to be checked ASAP. Also, note some of the time the blinking CEL is just a sensor in a critical area and not a major issue but the computer has no way to know.

Got to Autozone and have them hook up scanner and get codes. Go from there. I been diving with one on for 2 years. 3 shops, including Honda say nothing is wrong with it.

Piece of duct tape will take care of that.

If you're not noticing any issues like trouble starting, sputtering or rough idle, loss of power going up hills, or overheating then it's probably some emissions sensor like evap or some bullshite.
Get it checked at O'Reilly and post the code here.

1. Go to Walmart and buy some black paint and a bag of Depends
2. Paint over the indicator light
3. Paint the number "3" on the side of the door.
4. Put on a pair of the Depends and try to make the 700 mile drive in under 6 hours.

I’d check the engine just to be safe.

I had one of those apparently BS codes that I reset a couple of times. Eventually it started running real rough. Turns out an ignition coil starting to go bad was throwing seemingly unrelated downstream codes.

Put some black tape over it
