cost per bag went up $5-10.

Try $20-$25
That said, I’m still buying the $65 bag because I’ve used pro plan for 15 years

Basically mutts. We foster different dogs, plus have our own. But they're all mutts.

Same here. I’ve got 7 “mutts”- 2GSDs, 5 true mixed breed shite eaters that have been on Purina Dog Chow and now Frontier. They’re all in seemingly good health except for the fact that I feed them table scraps too. Hell, they’re fat!!

Two Frenchies too. Yes, my feed bill for the dogs is above average. Boutique foods are not on the menu

We buy the green bag from Costco (Lamb & Rice). Price is still up, but not near as bad as some other brands ($55/40lb bag).

Your house must be chaos with 16 dogs. It's hard enough to keep everything from being a mess with 1

Here's what I have done for my 2 Cane Corsos. A 135lb F and a 145lb M. I was buying Wellness Core wet food and mixing it with a little water to form a gravy with their Zignature dry kibble. They liked it fine but I was going through a 30lb bag of kibble about every 10 days and 2 cases of 12oz cans per month for an average of $250/mo. Did some research and I changed to homemade plus the same kibble, but they get half as much kibble per meal now. Every 2 weeks I make a big pot of white rice, meat protein, frozen veggies and usually add some diced fresh sweet potato, carrots or other root vegetable. They love the hell out of some broccoli and brussel sprouts too. 25lb bag of white rice at BJ's is $16 and lasts about 3 months. Frozen veggies in bulk as well and I hit the marked down meat section every time I'm at the grocery and pick up anything decent and throw it in the freezer until needed. Yeah, a little extra effort but I can usually do it on the weekends and it has cut the monthly bill down by $75-$100. Works out for me.

Only 9 dogs. 1 cat. And some horses. Things are orderly. I have lots of room for them to roam and I keep the yard clean. It’s not as bad as you’d think if you have room for them all. But 9 is the limit. Nothing else better wander up my driveway cause the Inn is full.

I counted the 7 mutts separately from the 2 GSD,s and 5 mixed breeds. That makes more sense but still, wow.

Definitely. Not an everyday thing tho. Just an occasional cookie or something from the grill when we’re all outside and I’m cooking . I figure they’ve earned it.

Try Diamond. It is about $40 per 50lb at my local feed and seed but you can get it from a lot of places including Chewy. My old school vet recommended it about 20 years ago.

recently switched from Purina pro plan to Purina one (the salmon flavored sensitive bag) due to price. I have two large dogs. Both enjoy the new kind and have not had any issues with the switch

Bought that once by mistake. My god, it can clear the room with the smell. Ironically, my dog was allergic to it as well.

Yeah, stop being POS cheapskate. They're your pets for fricks sake, cut back on stuffing your own fat face first.
