In my family, alcoholic tastes are like a parabola. You start out drinking shitty beer, then into your late 20’s until your 50’s, you acquire finer tastes. As you retire and get into your 60’s and 70’s, it’s like you care less and get back to drinking whatever beer is in the fridge, even if it’s a leftover Natural Ice from some poker party.

Me and two buddies would hit up Ricca Liquor on Jefferson and pick up a 5th each of pre-mix Tom Collins before going to Sno's or the "J" Club. That pre-mix was awful but we were on it nearly every Fri night for months. It did the job

In 11th grade….chasing MD 20/20 (red grape) with Peppermint Schnapps and followed by projectile vomiting. I had my appendix removed 4 days later. Coincidence…I think not.
