Chauna Banks giving out staffing advice to EBRPSS Superintendent

The OT's favorite local politician is suggesting that Warren Drake, EBR's public school system Superintendent should cut his own staff before he cuts teaching positions.
Chauna Banks: Warren Drake should start with his top-level staff when it comes to school budget cuts
For those who don't want to look at the link, here's the numbers.
EBRPSS serves 42k students FYI.
I didn't even know Chauna Banks could count, let alone do simple contrast/comparison analysis.
I'm not disagreeing with her. However, I don't see her screaming from the rooftops about the bloated government that hands out benefits to most of her constituents either.
Tldr: Your local government officials are taking pot shots at each other because there's not enough slop in the trough for all the pigs.

By comparison, Metro Nashville Public Schools, or MNPS, is a school district that serves the city of Nashville, Tennessee and Davidson County. More than 82,000 students are currently enrolled in the district's 73 elementary schools, 33 middle schools, 25 high schools, 18 charter schools, and eight specialty schools.
MNPS has five community superintendents and 12 executive directors serving 51 more schools than the Baton Rouge system and twice the number of students. Each one of its superintendents oversees about 30 schools, and each of the executive directors assist between 10-13 schools, including charters.

Well, I agree with her. I've never seen the need for so many main office employees at EBRPSS. Cut the non essential non educators

EBRPSS (and all PSSs) could get rid of 50% of their administrative bloat and not miss a beat.
She's a terrible person, but she's right here.

Yep, I agree with her too.

Seems like a lot of the problems would take care of itself if we just stopped letting the extremely poor (which tend to be extremely stupid) to vote. It just don't make sense to have a large percent of people who are extremely poor and extremely stupid to vote on things that they have no clue about, especially when most of them vote for candidates who will only increase the amount of free money the govt will give to them (of course that money will come from the people who aren't extremely poor and stupid).

I agree with her on this as well. Also, has she made any comments on the CATS employee who was hired after failing his drug screen?

Just wait until the evil St. Georgians take away the golden goose. It will be a mad house

if they need to cut the budget - how much do they spend advertising for public schools?

Too many chiefs and not enough Indians.

Well that would eliminate half of Trump’s voter base.

If you look at the org chart there are a lot of mid level positions.
pdf of EBR Schools org chart
Scroll down the pages and see the breakdown in various departments. The accumulation of those mid level positions seems excessive. The functions may be appropriate but having a person to oversee each is another thing. That’s a lot of salaries and benefits not directed towards classrooms.

That one is outdated the Current Organizational Chart is different. Your point remains though.

So they’re over staffed, over budget, AND underperforming. In the private sector they’d all be gone.

Wait. I agree with Chauna Banks?

Louisiana as a state spends somewhere around mid 20s per pupil for 46th ranked schools.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Looks like ole Chauna got lucky.

I see that it is different, but if I click on it, it leads to the 9 page break down.
They must work on the obfuscation principle.

People who are on long term public assistance shouldn’t be allowed to vote.

quote:Exactly this. Didn't want to come out and say it but if we gonna ban felons from voting, then why not limit the rights of those who suck off the tit of the govt? If you are public assistance then you shouldn't be allowed to vote since you will vote for more public assistance ($$$ to you). Or really just have it where if you work and pay taxes you can vote. These bumfricks shouldn't really have a say when they don't do jack squat to begin with.

About $14K per child per year which is a very healthy expenditure. Texas by comparison spends about $8500.
