Chattanooga residents can add their voices to the fight against hate speech through the city's partnership with Hatebase, a project that crowdsources, catalogues, and tracks hate speech in real time.

"It's basically an early warning system that helps identify situations of concern and allows the organization to inform and empower communities to implement preventative measures and stop mass violence before it begins," said Kerry Hayes, deputy chief of staff to Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke.

On the city's Council Against Hate website, residents can submit sightings or incidents of hate speech they experience or witness. The city pulls this data nightly from Hatebase and adds it to a dataset used to monitor hate speech in the community.

This sounds good to some I’m sure. That’s the saddest part of it all.

What about all the killings that don't involve hate speech. Are we just going to call those a wash?

Not like they can do much about it unless it’s vandalism or threatening speech, hate speech is protected

Every white person in Chattanooga should inundate the mailbox and report every time they hear the word "diversity" or "affirmative action" as those are merely code words for government sanctioned racist discrimination and hate speech.

Hatebase website

HATEBASE
Hatebase is a project that catalogues and tracks hate speech in real time. To learn more about Hatebase’s mission and capabilities, visit hatebase.org.

To submit a sighting or incident of hate speech, complete the below form.

Reducing hate speech starts with reporting it.
If you've overheard or been the victim of hate speech, you can use this form to anonymously report it. What is hate speech? There are many definitions of hate speech, but for the purposes of reporting we consider hate speech to be any term or expression that can be used to discriminate against a population based on their nationality, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability or class.

What was the term used?

How would you define this term?
Language

Okay OTers get to work and start submitting those terms you find offensive. I think the more mainstream words we submit the most offensive & fun this exercise will be. I am going to submit the words: "Money" "Housing" "Politician" and "Ice Cream" are all trigger words that describe discriminatory privilege

I believe that the correct SJW term is “dog whistle”.

Someone in NOLA should implement something like this, though. Everyone hates NOLA.

Which is why you take mainstream words, twist them into someone who is a SJW, and submit those non-offensive words as hate speech. The more non-offensive a word is the more it triggers us.

I tried to submit usage about the word "manlet" (not against me, obviously).

The site accused me of being a bot and wouldn't let it through.

Even better, cultural appropriation.

Should also report any New Atheist who opposes freedom of religion or uses terms like sky wizard.
