I'm shocked this doesn't happen more often.

The driver of the blue car likely reevaluated their life today.

Driver of the blue car is about to get PAID, assuming this isn’t an April fools post.

Man that's horrible luck. Only car in the area and it gets hit.

It isn't. That is the split that causes all the traffic around Chattanooga as is. Today must suck for a lot of people, blue car included.

And fwiw, the caption is wrong. Is I-24, not I-25

That tiny bridge fell onto how all northbound traffic from Atlanta goes to Knoxville. I-75 is very heavily traveled and there isn’t a good way to get around there.

Not to mention the upper side is closed as well, which is southbound 75 Knoxville to Atlanta.

It will as the infrastructure continues to age.

It passed inspection July of last year. I only see 2 dowels holding the railing up against the slab and where it cracked doesn't look like it had any previous weathering. I think the railing beam slid off it's support like it was hit by a vehicle on the overpass.

You go your whole life hoping for that astronomical chance of winning the lottery.

Then a bridge falls on your car and you know your chances are fricked.

It was actually on side going into Chattanooga. I came through on 75 north and saw other side backed up. When I got done with my call, I went amnicola hwy to detour. Took an hour to get back on 24 downtown. Hate going to Chattanooga. Traffic sucks.

This reminds me of the Atlanta bridge collapse, except no fire was in question. Wonder what caused it. Either way that’s just pure shitty luck for the driver of the blue Civic. Ironic also that it happened on April 1.

I wonder how long this will shut down both highways. 75 and 24 are both huge arteries feeding down to ATL.
