re: Chase Bank just cancelled my accounts because of my discrimination!

I have 10 accounts with Cap1 and I'm tired of their big box action, just like Chase. Doesn't matter what branch you go to either. Go into Siegen Ln and it's 4:40 with deposits and they say you know we close at 5? Well start counting... Phone calls that sound like scams bc they are from India/Thailand etc and you're not sure if to trust them. I'm migrating new businesses to a local/regional bank bc I'm just tired of Cap1 just having people who mostly didn't care to take care of our head people needing to do simple transactions in the branch. They are not friendly to everyone. Besides their racist spokesperson in not appealing. I'll close the remainder accounts down but it's like you said, we have everything on auto-draft, ACH, prepaid stuff and that takes a long time to change for all businesses. It's costly to change banks and banks know that so they feel they have the upper hand.

quote:They closed two accounts on me 15 years ago. Business account and personal. Actually a line of credit account too, so technically 3 accounts. Best I could get was that it was due to excessive cash transactions. Had clients who paid me in cash, and I would take it, put it in the business account, pay taxes, pay myself, etc. For whatever reason, they just randomly closed all my accounts one day. They cut me a cashier check for my holdings, I took it down the street to my wife's credit union, and I've had no further "cash" issues.
They aren't going to cancel for what you have described to us.
TL;DR: frick Chase.

We move closer to 1984 every day. Social credit scores are coming just like China.

Experienced a similar situation with them. Had gone to visit one of my sons in Nashville and ended up leaving a couple of shirts at his house. Told him to send them to me. The shipping fee was lest than $12. My son banks with Chase. I was ou t running around and stop by a Chase branch to deposit what I owed him for the shipping. I handed the teller the 12 buck with a completely filled out deposit slip. Teller said she could not accept the deposit and nothing else. Confused I asked why stating that I have made multiple deposits in the past. She replies "cash, money laundering". I replied "Wow! I had no idea the drug cartels dealt in such small sums of money, is that what you are insinuating I am? Does Chase actually think this would pop up on the Feds, IRS, FBI'S radar?" Told her I am so glad I personally bank with I regional bank and left

Just wait until the government controls our mandatory digital currency.

He really does. The request to have the account flagged to speak only with native English speakers is insanity.
I speak with a lot of people from India on the phone at work. I think I'm about an 8 out of 10 at understanding their English but sometimes I just ask for someone else.
I'm the paying customer. Should I not be able to expect to conduct business with the other person when I'm calling from an English speaking country?

My dads best friend had his CC cancelled by chase while he was on the road for business. He is a very wealthy guy. He had a 15 million dollar investment account with Chase at tge time.
He got home from his trip and called his investment advisor and told him he was moving his 15 million to Charles Schwab.
The investment advisor said they cancelled his credit cards because he paid the balance off every month.

If I have that much invested financially in a bank I want someone who can clearly communicate in English. Not some marble mouthed Filipino dude.

This is how you do it. Banks suck

It sucks, but this is nowhere near a Chase only thing. They legally aren't allowed to give you any details if they shut down your account due to the algorithm flagging you as possible fraud/laundering. This happens all the time at all banks. Spend some time on /r/PersonalFinance and you'll see.
The only reason for it to happen at one bank and not another is that each bank has their own algorithm/software for catching money laundering/drug dealing/etc. Whatever's Chase's algorithm is, it didn't like what you were doing. It's one of my biggest fears because it happens everywhere. Even local banks.
They are required by federal law to monitor and catch this sort of stuff, and often catch innocent people in the process. They have to do it to save their arse, though. They can get in big trouble if they don't catch it.

Why do you people keep banking with the big banks and then act surprised by this? Are you in LA? If so there’s a Red River Bank everywhere. Headquartered in Alexandria, LA.

Absolutely not! That is a demand deposit account, you do not leave without your money. If the bank closes your accounts, they better have the money right that second.

I'd prefer they make the lobby week Tue-Sat.

Use a local bank
The local banks will be a part of the Big 4 banks eventually. They are already going after the regional banks. The local banks will be easy pickings.
I hope everyone sees what’s goin on.
