Even Newsweek and Media Matters quotes show this was viewpoint about our country/society having made a choice to have guns and wanting to be honest about the costs with the rational view that gun deaths are going to happen (and happen in the UK as well) and that it will never get to zero. It’s not saying that the deaths are ok and says they are not and should work to reduce them, but he was saying as a society and country not having the 2nd amendment would be worse for us overall.

What both left out or least deemphasize is the beginning about him saying we need to be real and honest that having an armed citizenry comes with that cost and added driving comes with a price of 50,000 deaths annually. Getting rid of cars would stop those deaths, but we have decided that the benefits of driving out weight the costs while still working to lower the cost. He mentioned something like working to get gun deaths as low as possible as well including armed security at schools and more fathers in the home involved with their kids before adding the below.

it’s wild it’s taking this long to nail down a suspect. they’ve released 2 suspects already if I’m not mistaken.

I hope this doesn’t turn into another Los Vegas massacre.

It’s pretty crazy they haven’t apprehended anybody yet on this.
