I'm not weird.

I think those are arguably two different things.
Kirk is just a point of reference, in reality. If you're celebrating an assassination of an American - you shouldn't be a military officer. You shouldn't serve in public health. You sure as hell shouldn't be a teacher.
I don't mind cancel culture in the slightest. I want our side to win and I want them to lose and I don't put us on the same plane. But I don't even see this as cancel culture. I see it as a way to undo wrongs, to start to right the ship.
The reaction to Kirk is probably just a sign of a bunch of other things that should be disqualifying.

That’s neither an explanation or an actual position, that’s you tiptoeing around having an actual conviction.
If you really believe it, defend it.
Let’s hear it. The floor is yours. We’ll wait.

Bunk. You’re conflating two completely different things.

Tell me you want your children to be radicalized by liberals without telling me you want your children to be radicalized by liberals.

I’m mostly with you. I’d never call for someone to be fired because they said something I disagree with, no matter how distasteful it may be. If a business wants to fire them for it, that’s great. But I wouldn’t organize an internet campaign to get someone fired. It’s kinda lame tbh.
Calling for violence is different. I’d have no problem with someone being canned over that.

Yeah. That's called be extremely online and extremely gay. That's why a lot of the posters in this thread love it.

Dancing in and out of your actual beliefs to avoid being held accountable to the more indefensible ones is lame

Engaging with Foy is like arguing with a toddler whining for attention. He’s so desperate for it, he’s cranked out 200+ posts in 72 hours in this one thread. Every single post intended to downplay the gravity of Charlie Kirk being assassinated.

My main issue with the way this is going right now is it’s basically turning into the Salem witch trials.
I’m not sure what’s stopping someone who hates me IRL from making a fake social media account and getting me fired.

Not really. Glad to see his true colors. I’d just find a new doctor.

Celebrating murder due to political differences is basically calling for future violence and murders.
Left cancelled because of political differences and also went back years into people’s past including social media while a teenager to find a reason to be offended and cancel them. People are being fired today because with their celebrations of a murder they are glorifying violence and murder towards people they disagreed with. The two aren’t the same.
If the left cannot cancel you they will label you a racist and a nazi and then celebrate your murder by one of their comrades.
