The most overrated serving style ever.
Throw some precooked shite on a board, a few grapes, cut some cheese.
Takes no skill.
It's a fricking appetizer, mate. Do you cry about the sides not taking enough effort and skill, too?

The fresh wrapped jerky from there is outstanding. And the boudin burritos aren't too shabby either.

Charcuterie Boards

What gets me is when people order them at restaurants.
I make an exception for a place that makes the charcuterie in house. Like a smokehouse type deal.
I do agree though. I’ve noticed at parties, the charcuterie is always barely touched. I think people like the idea of it more than the execution.

I’ve made a few bucks off selling a few board to women.

That’s because that’s what your lunch looked like in prison

Had a buddy make this out of deer sausage for our annual Christmas party. Came out great

The OT shits all over just about every trend that comes along, but it draws the line at their "boards".

Make sure not to spill anything on your church jeans

Yeah it seems overdone as a party dish and gets skipped over unless it's all finger food options.
My gf and I do enjoy it as an easy dinner on occasion though. Don't feel like cooking just pull out all the cheese, meats and crackers and that's that.

Cured meats, vinegar based accoutrements, and delicious cheese are all top 10 foods though, which is why people enjoy it.

I will say that I have a couple friends who make cutting boards to sell. Ever since Pinterest and TikTok kicked off the charcuterie board trend they've been selling out. I keep telling them that Big Cutting Board is gonna run them out of bidness as soon as Hobby Lobby finds the chinese manufacturing for them.
Seriously though, up until the past year and a half or so they have struggled to sell their bigger boards for what they needed for them. Now, the neighborhood womenseses and art/craft fair wives are forking out crazy money for cutting boards they couldn't sell a few years ago.
