Changes to snap benefits recently

Ran across this article and kind of pointed out the problem with these benefits. Am i suppose to feel sorry ? This was the part that got me.
I say go back to the boxes of cheese and essentials there's no reason folks on these benefits should be able to say get whatever you need for free off the tax payer. Tired of the entitled group. This is why Rep win elections. Here is the full article. LINK

When Maine enacted the law that in order to get welfare you had to either volunteer 20 hours every two weeks or take 20 hours of job training, the welfare recipients dropped 77%. Every state should enact this. Either volunteer, train for work or you get nothing.
Evidently they didn't need it. I didn't seen reports of massive starvation deaths in Maine.

I get irrationally (rationally) angry when the person in front of me pulls out their SNAP card.
It's not always a queen with a brand new car in the parking lot. But it is most certainly always a load of groceries I would not buy because the stuff is too unhealthy or too expensive. Sam's club is the worst.

It’s well recognized that, in smaller communities, most mom and pop grocery stores would cease to exist if it weren’t for SNAP. That said, snap should be for a standard set of staples that can be purchased at these grocery stores. Ie a box with flour rice beans powdered eggs, etc.

Texas giving them a “Lone Star Card” like this is something to take pride in, just pathetic.
Meanwhile we pay all the taxes and get next to nothing in benefits and absolutely never qualify for anything (that we the taxpayer materially fund)
Private school voucher - nope dont qualify. Trump account - nope dont qualify. Dumbass SALT Cap, reached immediately on primary home and lose out on majority interest write offs. Could go on for hours.

You pay for the groceries on the front end and the Medicaid for the diabetes / heart disease on the back end. What a country.
