Find another job if it’s that bad. I mean most people are not doing what they enjoy but they find something positive to look forward to, it could be the pay or the people they work with. Also it always helps me out to throw pipe to the old lady before I leave the house.

I feel the same way sometimes
I'm about to buy the wedding ring, my first house (found a little 2 story 1900 sf home outside of Little Rock by the lake for 150k
I just remember what I'm trying to do in life and that usually pushes me through. Sometimes I wish I could change the things around me, and I get tired of the same job too. Just got to power through

Only thing in life you control is your attitude.
That’s it.
That’s it.

It makes you feel like a bit of a fraud, doesn’t it ? Like you are playing a role in the service of something that doesn’t really matter to you, right? Yeah - I did that for 2 decades before I found the correct fit. You are grateful for the check, but it’s not your true authentic self. I think that’s the blessing and curse of modern life. You are comfortable and safe but you feel a bit like a drone.

I know I should be grateful for the work and opportunity, but it’s tough at times. That said, any suggestions to change my thoughts?
Sounds like you need a change of scenery.
*Insert job/career cliche here*

Nope. I think he is beyond that. Morning cocaine should do the trick...

I like my job/career but anything gets old after 20 years

I've got a side hustle that I'd like to turn into my full time job, but for now I'm stuck in the same situation- boring, mindless, drone job that i have no passion for. But it pays the bills.
I'm thinking once I can pay my house off with my full time job and help with the side job, I'll have the opportunity to jump from this job to my side hustle full time. But that's still gonna take a few years ugh.

So what you're saying is, everything gets better from the moment your feel hit the ground on Monday morning.

It's soul sucking, I can't do it though I've tried. Most people have been there though.
You just gotta decide if there's better out there for you. You spent 1/4th to 1/3rd of your adult life at work, you should find something that better suits you.

I thought that before. Always thought, I could be storming the beach at Omaha, or in the jungle in Vietnam, or a coal mine etc... That always helped. Then I changed my career by going back to school/new career. Good luck.

My job sucks also. What gets me through most days is thinking about my family especially my grandkids If something ever happened to them I don’t know if I could continue

Are you by chance in your late 20s?
This is very common for that age. 5-7 yrs outta college. Monotony and hopelessness set in.
You get used to it and life becomes fun again soon. Hang in there.

I hate my job, and have hated every job I have had and will have. That's life for the most part.. but also my fault for being a lazy dumbass in college that didn't think about his future. I graduated Magna Cum Laude and studied my arse off but had no purpose or vision.

You don't live in a 3rd world country and you have your health. A lot of people have it a lot worse than you.
