AND, MOST IMPORTANTLY...
Always read the articles that you link. Could not find the word ivermectin in the article but found facts that diametrically opposed your point.

That’s why you wait until 7 days after symptom onset to start steroids.

I have no idea if Ivermctin is effective (my assumption has been no). But, your answer is very strange to me.
Why would you set the standard of being "cured"? Anything that moves the needle would be beneficial. Obviously, you know that.

What's the science behind the benefits of ivermectin?

Well then, I believe you will be appropriately stunned and shocked at this NIH guideline released on Aug 4th
Actually I'm not shocked at all. I know two COVID survivors who had terrible reactions to dexamethasone. But the reasoning for using steroids is the same as the supposed effect of Ivermectin you offered.

According to the Japanese Medical chairman, countries that used ivermectin have a 2.2 per 100,000 death rate, The rest of us have a 29.4 per 100,000 death rate.
How much more detail do you need?
I don't really disagree, but he's not nearly as bullish on ivermectin as you.

I will always think it’s funny when so many people in this country can not understand that it’s never gonna be a truthful thing and just a money thing.
So much money is tied to the vaccine that it’s the only thing they are going to push

Follow the money! A good motto
But you have to really do it. The economic cost of Covid to many is far greater than the value of vaccines to a few. And, reactive approaches (treating symptoms) versus proactive approaches (behaviors, hygiene and vaccine (if not for you, choose behaviors and/or hygiene); the latter mitigates the economic cost. Reactions far less efficient.
Follow the money! Just follow all of it, not just some of it.

India and Japan say the same thing about ivermectin.

Any steroid medication should have the same effect, hence why drugs like dexamethasone are used.
Does dexamethasone inhibit viral replication in vitro?

No, but the post I'm responding to didn't offer that as a suggestion for a possible mode of action for Ivermectin, only the possible anti-inflammatory effects.

I thought Covid wasn’t a big deal? Given the survival rate why would anyone need the horse paste?

Gotcha.
The most recent evidence from computer modeling shows that it could possibly interfere with spike protein binding to ACE receptors.
It wouldn’t take much disruption of that interaction to have an effect if early during infection

I think it would be more germane to look at where the money is going vs how much money is involved.
Especially if you are considering using ivermectin as prophylaxis. Over a year it would likely be more expensive than the vaccine considering the vaccines are in the neighborhood of $17 per dose.

No one really seems to know. 2017 paper on 'wonder drug' ivermectin

Ivermectin: enigmatic multifaceted ‘wonder’ drug continues to surprise and exceed expectations

quote:
Over the past decade, the global scientific community have begun to recognize the unmatched value of an extraordinary drug, ivermectin, that originates from a single microbe unearthed from soil in Japan. Work on ivermectin has seen its discoverer, Satoshi Omura, of Tokyo’s prestigious Kitasato Institute, receive the 2014 Gairdner Global Health Award and the 2015 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine
quote:
Today, ivermectin remains a relatively unknown drug, although few, if any, other drugs can rival ivermectin for its beneficial impact on human health and welfare.
quote:
Surprisingly, despite 40 years of unmatched global success, plus widespread intensive scientific study in both the public and private sectors, scientists are still not certain exactly how ivermectin works. No confirmed drug resistance appears to have arisen in human populations, even in those that have been taking ivermectin as a monotherapy for over 30 years.
Its is used in other countries to treat
Asthma
Epilepsy
Antiviral for HIV, dengue, encephalitis
Antibacterial for tuberculosis
Cancer - due to observed anti-tumor activity
Novel delivery systems
The theory on Covid is that it works to help the delivery of zinc to the cells, which locks out the replication ability of this novel coronavirus

I don't even know why we need MDs and researchers anymore. We got random guys on TD telling us all we need to know. I bet that they even took a biology class in highschool once.
