People are also missing the absurdity that if you can do a TV interview you probably don’t need to be in the hospital anymore.

I found that funny. You hear about the hospital being stretched thin then they show you this baw who appeared to be fine and more lucid than some people I work with. Maybe stop admitting folks like this?

My brother had china virus and he was shitting the bed and couldn’t move for a few days at home. This guy is in the hospital sitting up doing TV interviews. How about we stop admitting every person with sniffles and our hospitals might not be “overrun”. Almost like these people want a self fulfilling prophecy of overrun hospitals so they can cry about it and stay in the news.

I assure you that dude in video would not be in the hospital if he didnt have to or wasnt scared as shite

What mental gymnastics someone of the 50+ age group must do in order to believe its safer, in the near term and long term, to contract actual covid than take the vaccine lmfao

I don't disagree. You have to weigh the risks.

If X = the estimated risk that the vaccines have unknown side effects and that our government/media is lying about them or simply aren't aware of the side effects yet.

And Y= the estimated risk of infection combined with the likelihood that you personally would end up in the hospital, on a ventilator, or 6 feet under if you got infected.

Get the vaccine if Y > X. Don't get it if X > Y.

The guy they interviewed clearly felt the risk of X > Y, even though he was sitting in the hospital for treatment. Although he honestly looked like he was doing just fine.

What percentage of new COVID patients have taken the vaccine?

No clue.

Ok, and that's a perfectly rational personal decision (it was my personal decision as well). So is his, but people are only ostracizing one of those decisions.

What if the misinformation being spread about the COVID vaccine is liberal misinformation, meant to trick old conservatives into not taking the vaccine, dying at a higher rate, thus ensuring a higher % of votes for the libs going forward???? Kind of makes you think Q was a lib all along.

...what would a vaccine do now that he's had it?

Just coming up in here to say that my brother got it back in may. Tested positive and was sick for a couple of weeks. Didn’t get the vaccine, despite being a first responder, because he thought he had antibodies.

He woke up soaked in sweat yesterday, felt horrible, went to doctor and popped another positive, two months later.

I’m pro vaccine but also not someone who villianizes those who don’t get it. But you can get it again, and with severe symptoms. He says this time he feels worse because the headache is horrible and medicine isn’t touching it.

I doubt that obstinate motherfricker went to the hospital because he had "the sniffles".

I'm sure you can...I'm also sure it's unbelievably rare. The way the media is villainizing and trying to frighten people I have to think that every person in the hospital that is a re-infection would be reported pointed at. Right now they aren't even reporting what % of cases are reinfection leading me to believe it's probably <1%

That lady is hefty. That’s a comorbidity, but fat shaming isn’t allowed anymore, so being fat is a healthy lifestyle.

I’m certain I had covid in late January 2020, but I didn’t get a test because I had not traveled to China. I had severe pneumonia and 104.5 fever, I was hospitalized. I still got the vaccine, despite having reservations, because after that illness, I was not about to “f around and find out.” It took a broken rib and months to recover.

I respect everyone’s choice but this board is absolutely an echo chamber for ignorance.

You can test positive for months.

I have a coworker who eventually had to get a doctor to write a letter explaining this to the owner of our company because he insisted the guy test negative before returning.
