Typically snake oil is a cure-all with little or no evidence of any benefit.

In just this thread, cbd oil has been said to help sleep problems, arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, anxiety, stomach issues, autism, pain from brain surgery, dementia, Htn, tremors, and it helps dogs too! Sounds like snake oil to me.

You stated that it help seizures “without question.” Your links only show that it helps in 2 very rare forms of seizures, and then only as an add-on treatment. It was unclear it the effect was directly due to cbd oil, or if the cbd oil helped the main drug be more effective.

Also, the studies show more side effects (including abnormal liver enzymes) with cbd oil than placebo. At best (for now) it should be used by neurologist or pediatric neurologist in a very limited manner. Most primary care MDs probably shouldn’t be treating refractory seizures in patients with Lennox-Gastaut or Dravet syndrome-

Also, to encourage patients to take a widely unstudied supplement over two of the safest drugs on the market (Tylenol and ibuprofen) is questionable at best. I hope you are not your patients treating physician.

Cbd oil with THC helped my dad be comfortable while living out his few weeks as he lost his fight to cancer.
But I do think that most products out there are crap. Much like over the counter diet pills vs actual medicine.

CBD from a dispensary is legit, I prefer the 1to1 which is half THC half CBD

Snake oil. Most I know who have tried it say it doesn't do Shiite.

At the same time, I've sold equipment to the manufacturers, so love it

That is out of scope for this .

THC makes everythings better

Most states doing CBD are up to .03% THC allowed, else you are risking being arrested.

Pills like OxyContin? What’s the correlation of people that are prescribed this that also develop a heroin addiction vs the number of people that take CBD and develop a heroin addiction? What about suicide rates and correlation with anti-depressant prescriptions vs this same thing with CBD use? But the Doctor tells you to so it must be OK, right?

Dude, you know what OTC meds cause the most deaths in the US?
1. Tylenol
2. Ibuprofen

How many people does CBD oil kill every year? Oh yeah, none. You played yourself, because it’s obvious you are pulling shite out of your arse based on your preconceived notions.

As for my patients, for many of them CBD is safer than ibuprofen or Tylenol, especially when taken on a daily basis.

Congrats though, you proved in one post that not only are you clueless about even the most basic over the counter therapies, but you still can’t form a cogent argument against the use of CBD. I truly hope you’re not in health care.

I believe in it. A couple of years ago I started having trouble sleeping. The wife bought some CBD gummies from a smoke shop. Started taking them and started sleeping like a baby. Then after fighting with plantar fasciitis for several months I noticed that it was starting to get better. Almost no pain now from it. So yes, I'm a believer.

Thank you, I was about to respond with the same thing even though aspirin may actually be on the top of that list. But it’s common knowledge in the medical field that Tylenol regularly causes liver problems and NSAIDs cause GI and kidney issues (with long term use).

ok to be clear CBD is safer than Tylenol, ibuprophen, and possibly aspirin?

ok thanks- It doesn't sound like some weird snake oil cult at all.

pregnant w fever? CBD
child with history of febrile seizures? CBD
had a heart attack or stroke? CBD (vape it is probably best)
Breast feeding? CBD
fever with liver disease- CBD
pneumonia with kidney disease- CBD
Sick dog- CBD

nope, not snake oil at all

this is as bad as the "health" board

Not necessarily. There are multiple means of extraction. CO2 or alcohol being 2 of them.

Don’t bother. He ignores legitimate medical uses because calling CBD snake oil is cool to him.

Who is saying these are legitimate uses for CBD? In either case I can make up a bunch of bullshite uses for water but that doesn’t mean it’s snake oil and has no legit uses.
