Fastest chase I’ve ever seen in person and by the time the causeway cops got their engine started to get going they were already probably a mile behind. Red souped up SUV with no license plate & dark tinted windows of some type. Causeway cops got off the bridge and car was no where to be found.

I’ve never seen someone out run the causeway cops before.

How can you not stop a vehicle when it’s 24 miles with one way in and one way out?

It's easy if you're not very good at your job.

Years ago they chased someone from around Lacomb and made it over the Causeway and then proceeded through JP over the Huey P and flipped in a ditch on the westbank. He was dragging a trailer too. Then they unloaded dozens of rounds on him and never hit him. I was in the middle of it. He was chased many Mandeville, Causeway PD, JPSO, LSP and more.

This is why every bridge should be a drawbridge.

Where exactly? Which direction?

This seems incredible given other traffic present and cops available at off point.

Maybe in the water?

Wasn’t this in Tokyo Drift? Too fast. Cops don’t even try.

no license plate

I drive around BR a lot…I’m blown away by how many vehicles have absolutely no license plate of any kind.

There are over a dozen SUVs that will top 170 and five or six faster than a Trackhawk/Durango Hellcat.

Can't image how going that fast in a SUV could possibly be a good idea.

This is the type of car they were driving. Chase started at the old turnaround right before the 8 mile hump going towards Metairie.

Was driver using their blinkers properly?

Pet peeve of mine are car chase drivers in stolen cars not using their signals.
