With such a bold statement, you need to bring some examples.

The current pope is very likely the anti-christ.

Problems within the Catholic church have existed way before him.

I hope the Catholic church and the Vatican burn to the MF'ing ground then the purists can rise from the ashes and rebuild.

The CC is a freaking disgrace and should be disbanded.

I say this as a church going Catholic

Why not do something else with your time?

the church opened themselves up to this level of scrutiny when they failed to take action on such egregious crimes before.
and they likely didnt know about it. This isnt like JoePa knowing his buddy was raping little kids.

Just because someone calls themselves a Christian does not make it so.

Aw GTFO with this. Look at Joel Osteen’s church, or that preacher lady on TV with her golden toilet

frick them. There are thousands of priests who have gotten away and lived lives of impunity because the church would just move them around to avoid scrutiny and accountability. So frick them if they lose millions of dollars in a lawsuit.

And I am a practicing catholic. Not like it matters....

This is me to a T, minus the "practicing" part.

Make me pope for a day, and I will end this once and for all.

I don't care if there is a priest shortage in the ranks. You will remain a priest until convicted of a crime. Once you are convicted, your confession will be heard, and then you will be forgiven but defrocked. We don't need pedo priests in the clergy. I will also reverse the discipline of priestly celibacy. Priests will be allowed to marry and have children. Gay marriage amongst priests, however, will not be tolerated.

This is actually funny. Your hard line stance is still falling well short of where the vast majority of the American public is at (which is why the Catholic church has lost so many members and so much credibility).

Heard a comedian discussing this the other day.

He was commenting on the two week conference they had at the Vatican to address the issue.

“Is this something we really need two weeks to discuss? How about an email? Yo. Stop fricking kids.”

The Catholic Church is built by human hands and we’re all sinners. You can find evidence of evil in nearly every aspect of life, I choose to try to focus on the good. I often fail but I try.

It's the hypocritical bullshite that angers me the most about the church. The loudest of the "holier than thou", and those casting judgement over everyone else are very often the most evil and devoid of decency. frick them.

It's not hard to be a good and kind person without having to rely on religion and without looking down on how someone else lives their life, so long as that way of life doesn't negatively affect you.

If you research the history of the Catholic Church it becomes apparent that they are very corrupt. The Vatican helped hand over Jews to the Nazis during WWII. I see nothing has changed.

True story, my family and our friends families were close with our priest when we were young. The priest used to have my brother and i and some other (guy) friends over to the rectory to hang out and watch the Packer games. The rectory had a hot tub in it that we would hang out in. He would also take us to the games every now and then.

No funny business ever happened with him and me, though it did seem like he was rubbing his foot against mine at a packer game one time. But that's it.

That being said, if something like that were to happen today...a priest in a hot tub with four young boys...holy hell

I'm probably owed some money, to be honest. Though the Packer tickets were always free, so that's sort of payment.

that is a different discussion, but I feel the same.

The Catholic Church is filled with hypocricy. It is less about being in a community and more like being a member of a country club
