I caught a catfish the size of a F150. I was about to put him in the boat then I got a cramp in my hamstring so I let him go. If I wanted to I could have totally landed him in the boat.

They got them in Ross Barnett Reservoir the size of Volkswagens.

This is what I've heard. Right there where the Pearl River hits it. Divers dove down and saw them when they were investigating a wreck.

I suppose from certain angles, they may slightly resemble cats. But I assure you, that is a fish.

Dude. I may believe car sized catfish but pirouging in some chics anus is a bit far fetched.

We heard the same tale about the spillway at Lake D'arbonne as kids and I'm old.

Said the divers swore they were lucky to get out alive and would never return.

Maybe not cars, but there are some big motherfrickers down there.

This. People I used to work with would fish the river all the time.

Obviously not car sized fish though.

If they did exist, I'd imagine we'd have some proof by now

Some redneck would have mounted one by now after riding around town with it on the hood

They are too big to surface. They just chill on the bottom. You can only catch them on corn dogs.

Little known fact: those really big car-sized catfish travel down here for the winter and return home to the Minnesota in the summer.

Mark Twain wrote about a feast he and 30 other men had on just one catfish.

seen them in Lake Bisteneau growing up 5+ feet long and over 100 Lbs when they would drain parts of the lake to control the Salvinia. saw one in Lake Ouachita that a scuba school caught, was easily 5+ feet and over 100 Lbs. I have no doubt there are giants in the Mississipi.

These same guys probably swear they seen a black panther........these two stories are urban legend everywhere in the south.

Black panther that sounds like a woman screaming and catfish the size of cars by the dam. Part of southern folklore I reckon.

I'd bet there are a few that would break 100 lbs., but not much bigger than that.

A big catfish is 60-80 lbs.

I say this because I've caught a few big catfish in my day. And before the trash comments start, one of the better catfishermen I know happens to be pretty white trash. I realize that, but I also know how to have fun and dance to the band that's playing.
