I don't know many adult dudes who have drivers and don't also have multiple pairs of loafers. Drivers and jeans is a must do.

I wear tassled loafers without socks w/ jeans all the time. I remember seeing old rich dudes do it growing up, and being an old Tommy Bahama wearing rich dude is pretty much my top life goal.

It's good to make sure you don't look like a slob but it's also never a good thing to be too fussy about your clothes. Women don't want a guy to look more fixed-up than them.
I mostly wear Ariat boots with jeans. All those fancy dress-shoe-looking boots seem a little gayish.
