Buddy is on a cruise out of New Orleans. The Liberty. A guy jumped off the ship last night. They circled for like an hour and found his body.

I wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend
You could cut ties with all the lies
That you've been living in
And if you do not want to see me again
I would understand
I would understand

That you've been living in
And if you do not want to see me again
I would understand
I would understand

I’ve been on Carnival once. If I ever find myself on one of their cruises again, I’d jump too.

I hope he grabbed the last bag of steamed crab legs before he jumped.

Was he ok?
Yes, until he landed

Such an odd statement to throw in the article.

I can already hear the DJ cranking up the music while the ship’s engines begin to roar

I'd jump off a carnival ship out of nola too

I'd want to jump overboard too if I had to deal with Carnival passengers.

One picks a jet engine and the other chooses a cruise ship.

Maybe he just wanted some REALLY fresh seafood

I always wonder if, the second people jump, they think “what did I just do?” or if they’re still ok with the choice they made that they can’t undo.

Heck, if not hantavirus…. Might as well just kill yourself

That is pretty lucky.

There was an old Roald Dahl story about a degenerate gambler on a cruise ship. He joins a large betting pool with other gamblers where they pick the time the cruise ship will arrive in the next port. He bets the final time slot because he has an inside tip the ship will change course due to a storm. But the Captain instead decides to speed ahead of the storm ruining his bet. So he meets an old lady and devises a scheme where he will intentionally jump overboard and the old lady will alert the ship to stop to rescue him which will insure his big bet cashes in. After he jumps overboard we find out the old lady has dementia and nobody believes she saw someone fall overboard.

This got adapted into an episode of The Alfred Hitchcock Show called “A Dip In The Pool.”
