You can have a similar experience with most dealers in the country as at Carmax.

Depends on the dealership. Ive had puch back from sales managers even when a customer came in with the internet price after talking to the "internet salesman", btw most of those are women in an office who get paid when you show up so they'll say anything to get you in. Research your dealerships and figure out the good ones from the bad ones.

You can’t pay cash what you had and finance 2000$?

I bought my first truck from Carmax and did so because the truck I bought was $4K less than what dealerships were asking for the same vehicle (might I be able to haggle 4 K down? Maybe, maybe not), PLUS you have access to a much larger pool of vehicles. Just like in anything, you have to watch out for yourself, but in my circumstances, they were the better deal with a wider selection, but they aren’t infallible, hence the reason for this thread.

I’m sure that can happen on occasion. Just be sure to look around to make sure the Carmax price is competitive. Usually, they are not.

Show naked pics of wife to sales manager. If they don't decrease the price by $2,000, we don't wanna see the pics either

Very next day, I go to reserve a second test drive and the price jumped $2000.

This is a total win, baw. Now that they have proven they have the ability to change the prices, go in and offer $2k less than day one. If they tell you no, tell them to get the next mook up the food chain. Tell him your offer, that you will buy now, and are prepared to walk if any more bullshite arises.

In the meantime, what city are you close to, year, make and model of truck. Price? Mileage? Someone here will find you one better, for less.

It's worth running the VIN check to verify the car specs on the window. My daughter was looking at a Jeep Compass there, and the sticker said 4WD. I later checked the VIN, amd it's only FWD. Always verify...especially these days. When I asked where is the dial to shift from. 2W TO 4WD, the salesman said it was "automatic".
