Does it? Because some of these teens that get popped for these jacking have weapons charges and drug charges yet they aren't in jail. They are out committing more crimes adding to their sheets.

When the judge calls for a lunch break in a packed house and you have to come back a month or 2 later for another hearing.
Happened to me before in ebr.
Or the fact that you can go in on a Friday morning and nothing will be done until Monday if it isn't a holiday.

Yep. Doesn’t mean an ADA doesn’t plead it down to something else, but that’s what it carries if convicted.

The simplest way to break this (once Jason is out of office) is to just use RICO. Those pulling on door handles eat the others' carjackings too, and catch-and-release ends with a 25 defendant case to which there is no defense. Suddenly, your 8 months for door handles becomes 50 years, and everyone is begging for the first plea.

Look at that big bullseye right off I-10 at Crowder Blvd. How many unsuspecting tourists get off there because they made it to New Orleans and get their world rocked.
