Customer's, job is to get the cheapest price.

Car salesman's, job is to sell the vehicle for as much as they can sell it for.

Jody, loves the ladies and works hard to attract the married ladies.

Car salesmen are snakes and try to load you up with a bunch of crap you don't need. Also, if you buy used, make sure you get the Carfax and even then take it to a shop to get looked over. These guys are dirty as they come. Especially now with inflating used car prices. Trust me. We've had an ongoing issue with a car dealership for over a year. Attorneys etc. They are as dirty as they come but once you get the attorney general and personal attorney involved, they fold like a house of cards

F them. I do it all through email if I see something I like online. They can’t pull their BS tricks. “My manager wants to say hi”.

"Who are Union, which the OT can't stand..."

Most plant operators are not union in my experience.

Car salesmen are fine. The retail car experience is absolutely shite though.

A majority of car salesman lie through their teeth and do whatever they can to squeeze more money out of people unfamiliar with making a purchase of this magnitude. There are a few good ones in the industry.

If the price of the car was fixed and transparent and buyers were able to tip the salesman based on how much assistance they gave, it would be another story. But by and large they're pushy deceitful dirtbags seeking to maximize their commission to the detriment of the buyer.

You went to buy a car, but didn’t buy the car? Maybe when they saw you weren’t going to buy that day, they let you leave with a lowball number in mind so when you went to play the next dealership against them, that dealership couldn’t match the lowball number. You then returned to the original dealership to get what you thought was the best deal only to find the player got played. Something like that?

plant worker working OT or a waitress

plant worker is making products we need. Waitress is serving the plant worker food so he can continue. Car salesman is scrolling TD for 7hrs a day hoping some family comes by and he can upsell them into a car they can't afford.

You people are dumb. You think manufacturers want to deal with individuals?

The manufacturers are 100% trying to go direct to consumer. Ford's CEO has explicitly stated this. Dealership owners are spending ungodly sums of money to bribe politicians to enact state laws that prevent the manufacturers from selling directly in their states (so consumers could pay less and cut out the needless middleman). But instead big government is forcing us to keep buying through this outdated model because dirtbag dealers want to keep collecting our money while providing little to no value.

It's the same w alcohol distribution, at least in Texas. Legislated middle man/men get their cut. Consumer pays for it all.

They got my respect because there’s few jobs I can think of that I would hate doing more. I can get build my exact truck i want to buy and get quotes from all the dealers in the area all without leaving the house. A car salesman is basically just there to fill out the paperwork and hand me my keys.

They added a bunch of junk on there that I didn't need. Why would I pay over MSRP? They took off the add ons. They didn't give me a deal per se
