In the market for new or almost new Suburban or Yukon and am kind of surprised that prices are still holding where they are. Are dealers getting these prices are do we think they will continue to fall over the rest of the year. What say the OT?

Can you afford it? If so do it.
Can’t afford it? Buy a smaller or cheaper brand.
Timing the market will only make you miserable

My friend just bought a Denali suburban...$100,000+. Crazy.

Used cars have dropped like a rock over the past 24 months.
New car MSRPs are still high af, but there’s way more supply now so ADMs have either come down or no longer exist on most models.
I bought a brand new vehicle for 8% below msrp two months ago.

I’d do everything I could to hold off on buying a new vehicle right now.

In before someone tells you to buy a Toyota.

Why do you need a new car? What’s wrong with your current one? Can you afford to pay cash? Why do you need a suburban vs something a lot more affordable?

My God I am tired of seeing these posts

If you can get a car loan at below 3% interest it would be dumb to pay cash. I can park my money in a savings account and get 5% right now. Why would I give up 2% on that money if I can easily afford the note?

I've been price watching Tahoe's and Yukons for 2 years now, and nothing has changed. As long as people keep paying outrageous prices for vehicles, the dealers and mfg's are going to continue to bend consumers over. I keep hearing that the bubble will burst, but I have yet to see any evidence of it on Chevy/GM SUV/Truck side.

Would be a better choice

There are some incentives (I think Mazda had one) for like 1.9% financing but it was for 36 months.
So unless you put a very large downpayment down, your month to month payment will still be high as giraffe pussy

It is slowly becoming a buyers market. Some dealers are embracing it and some are still high on the Covid kool-aid.
Wholesale used prices are coming down and the Spring selling season was a bust. Auctions are seeing an increased number of vehicles coming through from new dealer lots. They are needing to dump used inventory, because their new cars are filling up the lots. The floor plan interest is killing them as well.
Summer is a slow time for car sales, you should see prices drift down.

It was until they started putting Turbo V6's in all their SUV's and Trucks.

This isn’t true, just go on dealers websites and you can see them advertising 3-4K off of MSRP for tahoes right now. They weren’t doing that a year ago. Still overpriced, yes, but they are starting to cave and if you can wait until the end of the year I would think there will be some good deals to be had on 24s. 25s are getting a refresh so no one will want the leftover 24s.

I don’t really believe this. Like a rock might be an exaggeration

If you can't afford, or don't want to afford, the Suburban, they can always ship it to Texas to sell it. New ones popping up in every neighborhood.
