My car insurance doubled after 1 claim less than 4000 dollars to repair my own bumper with camera. Does that seem right? What are good choices of car insurance? I presently have National General.

Mine went up 50% with ZERO accidents or tickets. The explanation was the cost to insure the "pool" of cars has gone up because of hurricanes, floods, cost of parts and service sky rocketing. To all the morons who still think "inflation is coming down" you need to wake up.

I had the exact same experience. Sadly no one was cheaper than my current insurer so I just had to eat it.

It usually goes up after an accident, plus you have to pay for everyone who chooses not to have insurance.

A friend just left USAA after his went up $100/month with no claims, and he hasn’t added his new driver yet. Mine renews in September, and i’m not looking forward to it.

When I first went with Geico I started paying monthly, for whatever reason... That was about 25 years ago... No claims and no tickets... They have inched up over the years and going up higher with new cars. This last one went up two monthly payments for the year. Every bill I have has gone up with the exception of my cell and internet as those are locked in...

Insurance companies raise your rates. Waters wet. I make a point to shop around once a year and make a change.

Go ahead...shop around...and when every single other provider is charging the same , if not MORE, than come back with your childish snark "water is wet"

shop it. Geico doubled my motor cycle insurance, shopped it and reduced my total cost for bike, two cars and a motor home below geico's last year cost.

all insurance companies are crappie on the claim side so the only variable is price

There is no more long term customer loyalty for insurance. Shop around every year or 2.
