You will have a tough time finding special rates on vehicle in that class. Cayenne S or GTS would be a nice change from the M though.

Sounds like she would be better off leasing if she doesn’t want a car out of warranty

This thread had nothing to do with interest rates and everything to do with Rize wanting to post what $80,000+ luxury SUVs they are thinking about buying. Classic Rize thread.

Just bought my wife a car and best we could get at dealer was 6.5% for 36 months (after taking cash rebates). I've shopped around for refi rates and most can't offer under 6 (and were both 800+ scores). Only one decent I've found was USAA offering 4.94 for 36 or 4.99 for 48.

I'm kinda anticipating rates to drop a smidge soon with the Fed expected to lower rates in the next 1-2 months, so I might hold off and see how that shakes out.

FYI, be prepared to get a million phone calls and texts as soon as you put your number in to see what rates are being offered.

I can’t believe we haven’t seen the mini van crew in this tread yet. Seems like they try and push that in every car thread.

She pays the mortgage and all the bills for the house. I haven’t paid a mortgage or house bills in 14 years. I’ll gladly keep her in a car every 4 or 5 years

Is this a reference to you having separate accounts and separate financial responsibilities?

If so, you’re bragging about her wisdom in ensuring she keeps the house if you do something stupid or get caught doing something stupid?

And the benefit of you letting her get that benefit is that you also “get to” buy her a new fricking car every 4-5 years?

She better be pretty. But she’s smart. So she’s probably not.

Anyone that feels the need to call someone out for not “being a man” over buying a car for their wife is likely the farthest thing from being a man.

We do have separate accounts and no joint. I’m pretty sure Texas is a 50/50 state in a divorce.

Rates have been up for a bit, but these companies are going to get their pound of flesh when it comes to covering their tariffs. Financing is the easiest way to do it as most people cannot buy the car outright in cash.

Gotta love the free market, but it is what it is. If the car is running well and no issues yet then tell your wife deal with it and kee driving it until it is a better time to buy. Only people buying now should be people with no other option.

Lowest standard rate I've seen lately is 5.31% for 72 months on a new car through Truist. They give similar rates on used with lower miles/newer model

New vehicles typically have special rates in lieu of rebates. You can get the 4.9/3.9 that way if it's offered on the particular vehicle you're looking at.

I got 4.9% for 48 months on a new vehicle last weekend. Then not 3 days later I get a mailer from my credit union advertising 3.99% rates.

If you have to finance it, you can’t afford it.

I’m great at making poor financial decisions.
