Just checked and you are right. Used to be quite a few around there. I can promise the tweeters are not harsh though. It's a silk dome not an aluminum one. They tend to not be as harsh.

I can vouch for these CTX speakers. Not harsh at all and the mid bass/ woofers are solid as a rock. I have 75 Watts RMS (from a JL 5 channel amp- over your budget unfortunately ) going to mine and they sound great

I'm gonna be that guy for a sec. I also found some JBL p660c components and they are comparable according to some forums to the ID CTX but costs around 115 and are 2 ohm. What is different from the 4 ohm and 2 ohm? I know from circuits that is just the resistance. What does that mean for picking an amp?

essentially it reduces the resistance by half.
so
one 4 ohm speaker is going to be 4 ohms
two 4 ohm speakers wired in parallel is going to be 2 ohms
two 4 speakers wired in parallel is going to be 8 ohms
one 2 ohm speaker is going to be 2 ohms
two 2 ohm speakers wired in parallel is going to be 1 ohms
two 2 speakers wired in parallel is going to be 4 ohms
so at 2 ohms the amp puts out more power. The zapcos are good down to a 0.5 ohm. But I wouldn't push the zapco that hard, I would keep at a min of 2 ohm so the JBLs would require a much larger amp as they would have to be wired in a series to get a 4ohm load as a 1 ohm load would be pushing the amp pretty hard.
as far as the JBLs dunno never heard them. you won't be disappointed with the Ids though. If you wanna save a few bucks do the ID series thats on woofers etc.
BTW where are you getting the p660c's for 115? Also realize you would need a bigger amp to get the most out of the JBL's so that offset the savings. Also they use a textile dome not a silk dome, so harshness could be a problem.

Amazon. The amp is rated to 2 ohm. Wouldn't I just go off of the 2 ohm reading of the amp?
Why would I need to run them in parallel/series? Couldn't I just hook them straight to the amp?

I apologize, I wasn't paying attention to what I was typing. They can be wired in straight to each channel from the crossover giving the amp a 2ohm load on each channel.

Hertz is very good, as good or better than image.
