Chase banking has generally been decent, their home mortgage business was an absolute joke from taking forever initially, to closing it out when I refinanced. Stupid me, thinking using a bank I’d been with for years would be better than some random financing elsewhere.

Capital one literally runs commercials highlighting that their branches are basically coffee shops with wifi, and if you want something banking related well they guess they can help you

I haven’t had much trouble with capital one and I say that with caution bc I know how frustrating banks can be

We moved to them bc our credit union became totally incompetent and all of the other local banks we banked with had been bought out.

We also have an account at chase but I hate their rude tellers - but luckily I don’t have to deal with them that much

Capital One wants you to do everything for yourself online Evidently they want fewer employees and customers. We’ll be dropping them soon.

Bank local if you can. Use a credit union if you can. Big banks don't give a frick about their customers. In any way shape or form.

Bears repeating.

That secret code text messaging stuff is treasonous schlock.

The technical term is "two factor authentication."

I work for an online products company. I manage our tech support, and we have employees in the US and have someone to answer the phone 6 days a week, or if no one is available, we can call you back.

Yes, it costs money, but our customer satisfaction rating is 98% consistently. It's also helped our business grow, cause not only do customers need help, so do our partners. They want to call and talk to someone.

I guess define Local Bank because Hancock definitely does NOT consider themselves to be a “local bank.”

I'm trying to get free from their trap. Samuel Jackson the racist as their spokesperson and the shirts that had the "__________BLACK" written on them. Seems like they only want black people as customers so I'm trying to help them out. Stupid businesses pissing off 1/2 of the customer base seems like a bad plan to me.

Today , I wondered which debit card belonged to which of 2 Capital One accounts. So I called. They said Card A belonged to account A and card B belonged to account B . I said, are you sure ? They said yes. Turns out both cards are assigned to the same account ( that I never use ) and the one I use doesn’t have a debit card.

They said , don’t worry they can assign one of the cards to the other account while I wait. I said great. Then after a long wait, they said they “ normally “ could but coincidentally they had just sent me one in the mail so now they couldn’t.

They then told me to transfer money from one account to the other and withdraw it using one of the debit cards .

Ok. Whatever. It was a lot less annoying than the 2 hours I spent going around with them on Wednesday.

I refinanced with them around 2015 and their fees were ridiculiously high. Looking back on it, it was dumb to go through with for a number or reasons but I did it anyway. Stupid move on my part but I was desperate to get away from Ocwen, that had my mortgage, due to another stupid situation.

Maybe Mother was right and I'm just stupid.

Capital one has 755 branches stretching from Louisiana to New York...

HW has 237 branches along the Gulf Coast..

Local has nothing to do with the # of branches

And “stretching from Louisiana to Ny” is a stretch. It’s not like they are in every state between the two when in fact they aren’t in almost all states between Louisiana and NY.

Love campus federal. Those frickers bailed me out of a sticky situation in the Middle East without hesitation.

I’ve had my account since my first day at LSU and will never leave them. It’s a pain in the arse for some things, but the customer service makes it worth while.

In what way? We have all the same services as the bigger banks(remote deposits P2P transfers and A2A transfers etc.) but still have that attention to detail members are looking for. The branch I work for is open from 10am to 7pm in the lobby with a 24 hour ATM. Even have digital tellers to take deposits and help with withdrawals from 7am-7pm
