Been trying to fall asleep for the last hour or so. Can't do it. So then tons of questions just randomly started popping into my head like the Universe. Where does it end? Does it end? What was here before? If there was nothing here before, then how is that possible? It had to start somewhere.

Yep, when I get up during my sleep cycle, and if I allow myself to start thinking about something at work, or something else that fires my brain, I am done, will not be going back to sleep. I fight it hard, but I lose most of the time.

Happened to me last night and took something tonight to help me sleep. Still didn’t work great but got a little more sleep.

Try running out of prescription opioids tell me how you sleep. This shite makes me want to go crazy. I will get off these things if it’s the last thing I do

Nowadays I fall asleep just fine. It’s the staying asleep that’s hard.

the Universe. Where does it end? Does it end? What was here before? If there was nothing here before, then how is that possible? It had to start somewhere.

Unless it’s part of an infinitely large blob of bubbles that expand and pop. Our struggle with concepts like infinity stems from the fact that our lives play out on a timeline. We start at one point in time and end at another. It frames the lens we view existence with. But there are no rules or reasons why the universe has to exist in the same way.

The bigger questions for me:

1) If the (multiverse) universe is infinite, how is it possible for consciousness to be unique and finite? I get to be me for a blip in time and then am gone, never to be seen again. If true, is consciousness the most unique feature of the universe?

2) If there is a God, why the need for all this to exist for Him? Did he get bored one day and decide he needed a universe to glorify his power? Has he created other things that are wildly different than anything we could conceptualize?

Hadn't slept in a week until last night when I drank too much (probably a good thing). I can never fall asleep unless I'm completely exhausted and that comes in waves. If I don't fall asleep within that 20 minute window where I'm too tired, I'll be up another 4 hours. Currently dealing with snoring spouse and meowing (hungry) cats. No one's willing to compromise

I do feed my cats but one of them is fat and thinks he's actively starving to death at any given moment

Same here. Been up with my dog since 0230 pacific. He wanted to go out but now he won't go back to bed. Just fed his little butt, so hopefully that'll get him back to sleep

This is precisely why I alternate from 10 mg of melatonin one night -> two Tylenol PMs the next night -> two Unisoms the next night -> Xanax the next night. Repeat.

My body never gets used to what I’m taking so it always works. If I don’t take anything, I’ll wake up at 12:30 thinking about work and my sleep is over…

The universe begins and ends at the threshold of consciousness and sleep.

Now, go get some.

Met a new and undiscovered model yesterday. All I can think about is her absolutely stunning face. She offered to come to me for photos (200 miles). Hurricane crap going on, dammit.

Not to undermine your situation, but my new mattress arrives today and I’m fricking stoked to go to sleep tonight. Current one is probably worse than a homeless camp bed.

Melatonin it up baw and hope things improve for you
