I have to imagine the state would view it as a huge cash crop as well. MS is a big Ag state along with LA, AL, Ark. Farmers would be happy to start growing.

I mean not really they were way ahead of everyone on gambling. They have always been the state to put aside pearl clutching morals when money is involved.

Mississippi gonna f around and legalize weed and get a billion dollar casino and everyone is going to fly into New Orleans simply to drive to Biloxi and give their money away because this god forsaken state can’t get out of its own way.

Lots of support for Initiatives I-118 and I-190 here. Medical became untethered recently and there were 100k+ signatures for it to be on the ballot. I voted yes for both.

Is Mississippi voting to legalize recreational?

Ah. Understood. I missed where the proposition was for medical.

Hell, if they see some good return the first couple of years, I could see Mississippi going all in on the gulf vacinty. They could very easily get some support for a major airport to support bypassing NOLA altogether. Woukd siphon a mountain of money from Louisiana in more way than one. Not much to lose.

Can one get fired from a job if it’s legal and fail a drug test?

Anyone living in one of those states care to comment how it looks re: these puff puff passing?
I'm in New Jersey and I think the marijuana thing will pass. I went to the Board of Elections yesterday to get my ballot, it never showed up in the mail. Filled it out on-site and turned it in. I voted yes on the Mary Jane thing and I don't even smoke.

That's why we need edibles.

Yep. Even though the smart companies are changing their policies to allow consumption as long as it's not "during work hours". That's pretty much Humana's policy at this point as it stands if you're not working directly with patients.

Don’t see it passing in Mississippi , the buckle of the Bible Belt. The legislator proposed an alternate version called 65A to confuse and split voters . Hope I am wrong
Sorry didn’t read before posting .... yes on 65 , No on 65A

Depending on the state protections of workers, yes.
Some states private businesses can fire you for wearing the wrong color shirt. And that's how I think it should be.
Let the free market decide the rules businesses enforce, not politicians.

Up to the company if they chose to test for it.
This has already been taken to court by a Comcast employee who was paralyzed and had a prescription. As long as it's federally considered schedule 1 (no medical uses) companies can fall back on that to terminate anyone who has it in their system.

You people don't understand Louisiana politics. It takes TIME to set up the perpetual money flow into the right hands without a hint of evidence. Mississippi and other states pass these laws and the money goes into the state fund so it's fast and easy.

Huge failure of Trump to not push for this change. Maybe he will if he wins this term, but a large majority of the US thinks it should be legalized to some degree. I think a VAST majority believe it should be taken off Schedule 1 at the very least.

Medical in Louisiana is a joke. You gotta have serious medical needs to apply for it. Some states you can have headaches or insomnia. I imagine Mississippi will be similar.

Yeah the dam on that misinformation campaign against the devil's lettuce has already broke. The only thing holding it back right now are law enforcement lobbyists and politicians in their pocket who don't want to let it go for easy arrests.
