So you're saying the body is under all of the rubble?

The body was eaten by all the immigrants ICE dropped off.

The OT: A veritable font of misinformation.

the other day driving down Canal from City Park to a little past Carrollton, I thought it actually looked pretty nice. Didn't go much further though

Well when 70% of the voter base, or better, is practically retarded............ and so is the city’s “leader”....... this is what you get.

I asked because I don't keep up with the status of the place and thanks for your lovely and informative response. I'm sure it made you feel superior.

Doesn't look like an empty lot in your photograph. Looks like a lot of rubble still there.

In fairness, New Orleans has resembled Port-au-Prince since the 1790’s.

I’m not sure where this image of New Orleans being a shiny beacon of cleanliness and municipal competence is coming from. The city has never been anything but corrupt and largely lacking in every possible category for cities of its size—unless you are talking about hosting large social events or tonnage of cargo transiting the port.

I would have agreed with you as little as 5 years ago. I enjoyed going into the city.

That is no longer the case. It is a true shithole.

I always had an uneasy feeling in NOLA, could never explain it. Like something bad was going to happen at any second. I’ve been to a lot of cities and never felt that feeling of worry while in NOLA.

The best thing you can say about NOLA is that it’s keeping one of the worst states in the country (statistically, personally I would prefer LA over many other states) from not falling even further behind.

Think about that for a second.

In all seriousness I feel that way about BR - and I think that stems from going to grad school at LSU during the Derrick Todd Lee years.

New Orleans is fun on emergency funding. They cannot possibly make ends meet by taxing the citizens. Katrina was a windfall; the oil spill another and now covid.

Create an emergency and then They beg the state for funds (who gets it from the feds) which they inevitably mismanage which is easy to do because emergency funding isn’t subject to the same restrictions as tax dollars.

Citizens are being scammed. They don’t even realize it.

Solution- starve the beast and move out.

I don’t think anyone has to think about that for more than a second. It’s pretty obvious

Imagine Baton Rouge without LSU

I remember New Orleans in the 70s and 80s and it was a paradise compared to now.

New Orleans East was really thriving. I remember going ice skating there, and being amazed at how big and new the houses were. Imagine that difference alone...

We learned to read in Orleans Parish schools, and rode our bikes all over the place. UNO was one end of our range and the St. Bernard Projects were the other.

There were something like 600,000 people inside the city limits back then, and we were all natives- no Arkansas sluts with S&WB artwork polluting the streets.

Don't kid yourself. My heart aches at what's been flushed down the toilet in my little lifetime.

It's ALWAYS BEEN A SHITHOLE. It's just been camouflaged over the years by a decent amount of tourist that filter the numbers of local trash.

If you live in NOLA, move.
