That’s pretty incredible that companies will fire for being hydrated. I regularly drink a lot of water throughout the day. I’ve only heard of companies retesting. A second dilute sample will normally call for some action to be taken.

A failed DOT test will stay on his record for 5 years, makes difference whether he takes a new one and it is negative, still will show a failed test by the DOT

There's no such thing as a "random" drug test.
They know that there's no way in he'll that yours would be negative.

Yes there is you stupid dumb dumb. Companies drug test at random as well as for reasonable suspicion, post incident, and pre-employment.

They would probably re-test. Specific gravity under 1.005 is not unheard of, but evidence that the specimen was diluted with water (attempt to mask), which btw, would only work on a very borderline result, OR the person drank an unusually very high volume of water about a hour before testing. Bleach is not drank to mask results but is poured into cup. And any amount of bleach would put the oxidase test way out of wack and probably contradict any further testing; ie, the drug screen itself would not happen. (and many labs will not continue testing of any suspected diluted specimen...ie very low specific gravity.

Likely just a retest. I've had it happen 3 times on randoms due to in taking too much water throughout the day and being told to go within the hour.

I’d be pretty pissed for getting fired for drinking to much water

If said friend is truly worried but does not use drugs then I would tell him/her/you to say you will pay for a hair follicle test to prove innocence.

Hair test goes back like a year, baw. I don't know anyone over the age of 12 who is that innocent these days

For some people making 6 figures in the O&G industry is worth skipping out on a joint

I get hair tested every year. If you're in DISA it's not something you want to fail

I don’t think my company will fire you but I also think you get places more often in the “random” test section.

Your hair must be pretty long or you're very young.

A company I worked for, if you had a diluted negative on the pre hire drug screen, you were not getting hired.
If you were an existing employee, if you got a diluted negative on a random, you were allowed a retest.
