Company substance abuse/employee handbook would give you a better answer than the stuff I’ve read here. Diluted (i.e. creatinine level below 20, is “deliberate overhydration in an effort to evade detection”. DOT regs require immediate recollection under direct observation. Usually this gives the donor enough time to eliminate any metabolites. That’s a federal rule. BUT, many employers can terminate you for violating the company policy even though you are allowed a recollect. So we can’t really give you a definitive answer. Check your handbook.

Had this happen to me for my current job. Called me and asked why it was. I told them I drank a whole pot of coffee the morning before. I had to retake it within 24hrs. Passed both but first came back dilute.

This is for the aerospace/defense industry with a big company.
