First 3 cars were all manuals. Probably been about 10 years since I drove one.

Other than sports cars and Jeeps they don't seem to make too many anymore. I had 2 full sized trucks that were manuals.

Yes. Learned to drive a standard in HS, but it was my aunt’s car.

I bought a standard 5 years ago and kept it a couple years before giving it up due to me getting a company car.

I want to get another one. How many traditional standard vehicles are produced anymore?

Yup. My dad made sure if it. My first vehicle was a 5 speed f150. I will probably do the same for my kids.

There’s like less than 10 models available for sale that have a manual option right now

The question is not whether you can operate a manual gearbox, anyone can learn that in 30 minutes, it is whether you can effortlessly heel and toe.

Just remember once you grind all those sharp edges down the horrible noise will stop.

Follow-up thread: when do you use the clutch?

1) Anytime I shift
2) I upshift without the clutch.
3) Big Rig Butters here. I only use the clutch to take off.

I had a Mustang where I was Big Rig Butters for a few years. I drive a WRX now and so far I've resisted the urge to go Big Rig Butters on her.

I've owned 4 cars in my life. Only the first (which I only had for 6 months before a lady ran a stop sign and totaled it) was an automatic. Everything since, and to this day, has been manual.

So,yeah, I can drive a manual transmission car.
