Can you drive a standard transmission?

Im sure the older people can, but wondering about the younger. I’m considering getting a jeep for my daughter for her first vehicle, but it’s a standard. When I learned to drive probably half the vehicles were standard. Now they’re an anomaly, unless you buy something old. I’m sure she’ll be able to learn to work a clutch. It’s not hard. But it got me thinking who on here, if they’re being honest, can drive a stick?

My car comes standard with an automatic. So yes.
I can also drive a manual transmission if that's what you are asking.

I’m a grown man so yes, I can drive a manual transmission vehicle. My dad raised me right.

Nah. My first car was from 1984 and even that had an automatic

You set yourself up for your daughter working the stick jokes.

Yes.
Bought a manual car in texas having only driven one for a few mins like 10 years before. Learned on the drive home. Had it down within about 2 weeks.

Yea. Probably so. I’m 3 drinks sitting on the porch looking at buying Jeeps. I forgot my crowd lol

Hardest part is to learn how to not rock back much on an incline with a car right on your arse when you need to go.

I just spent half the day riding around with my 15 year old son driving my mid 90’s Ford truck with a 5 speed.
He’s doing well...but the old truck may need another clutch/pressure plate before he finishes. It’s still got the original stuff in it now with about 175,000 miles.

I taught myself in high-school by driving up the driveway, rolling down the driveway, back up, and so on. I then drove around the block and went on from there.

First 3 cars were all manuals. Probably been about 10 years since I drove one.
