What usually passes for pushups... yes. Chest to the floor and under control... no.

I could do 350 without stopping and with your mom sitting on my back.

I'm in great shape and have never been able to do even one, despite following the online tutorials.

Only 40? That's pathetic.

40 is and should be easy for anyone under 40 years of age. I do 25 most mornings just to help wake up and get the blood flowing.

My father was in WWII and he did 50 push-ups every morning until about a month before he died at age 87. It was really pretty cool to watch as he got older. Old man always had some biceps too.

I could until I had surgery. But I’ll get back to it.

I just tried and made it to 38 and then the TV commercial ended, so my count is 38.

Disclaimer - 38 is Not so bad for an ancient old fart with a defective heart.

I tell people the best way is to use the corner of a wall. Go down on your own as far as you can and grab the corner when you need to. Eventually you won’t need it. Just takes time.

So the story's got legs?

When I was younger, thinking it was Hershel Walker or Bo Jackson (?) that would do pushups during tv commercials so I would too.

40 pushups pretty easy. I can’t run distance for anything. HR spikes and I can’t bring it down but I can swim two mikes easy street.

I’m gonna die one way or the other.

I wonder how much this is just a proxy for body weight.

Nope. Maybe 15-20. I'm pretty badly out of shape.

Without stopping? No.
I'm getting there though. Slowly.
